Why healthCare
Health care is essential to address challenges such as high mortality rates, infectious diseases, and the growing prevalence of non-communicable diseases. Access to quality healthcare is key to improving life expectancy, reducing poverty, and enhancing overall well-being. It plays a critical role in fostering sustainable development, promoting economic growth, and ensuring a healthier, more productive population.
What we do
We work to improve healthcare access and promote well-being in underserved communities. We played a key role in the Total Sanitation Campaign, constructing over 23,000 toilets and improving hygiene and sanitation across Kanyakumari District. GVST provides maternal and child health services, focusing on antenatal care, immunizations, and nutrition to reduce mortality rates. We conduct health awareness programs through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), promoting personal hygiene and preventive care. Our initiatives include mobile health camps, vitamin supplementation for malnourished children and women, and alternative healthcare options. Additionally, GVST trains volunteers for palliative care and ensures clean water access through community infrastructure projects.
