Why Skilling
Skilling empowers individuals by enhancing employability and promoting economic independence. It equips people with practical skills, boosts confidence, and fosters self-reliance, particularly for women and marginalized groups. By investing in skill development, we create sustainable opportunities, break the cycle of poverty, and build stronger communities.
What we do
What we do GVST has focused on empowering rural communities, especially women, by offering skill development and livelihood support programs. These include tailoring and computer literacy courses, capacity-building workshops for Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and financial literacy training. The organization has also facilitated income-generating activities like fish vending, dry fish business, beekeeping, and seaweed cultivation, aimed at promoting economic independence. Additionally, GVST provides microfinance assistance to entrepreneurs from minority communities, helping them start or grow businesses. Collaborations with local, national, and international partners like CARE-India and OXFAM have played a key role in these initiatives
